Vacation

We were able to squeeze in a short vacation to the Grand Canyon and Vegas before Colin had to return to work. We were gone for only 4 days, but had a wonderful time. I'm extremely thankful to have spent the time with my family and hope Hailey will remember the experiences we had together.

1st Haircut

Yes, Hailey is 3 and she has never had her haircut! Mommy and Daddy love her hair and didn't want to see any of it go. It is my fault...I have thin, fine, and straight hair and she has beautiful, thick, and curly hair. I was afraid if I cut her hair I would lose some of the curl. So, I finally decided that a haircut was needed as the tangles were getting worse and hair time was becoming more difficult.

As you look at the pictures you may not notice a difference, but as her Mother I can assure you that there is a change! It seems a little lighter and more curly! Hailey is not happy with the cut and makes sure that I am aware of it. She informed me that she doesn't want any more haircuts!

San Diego Zoo

For the past two weeks Colin has been completing his annual training for the Marine Reserves. One of the perks for being a Marine is getting in to many of the San Diego Parks for free. He has Fridays off, so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity, and we spent the day at the zoo. The weather was perfect...it even rained on us while in the rain forest! Hailey loved every bit of the park, and didn't want to leave!!

Today Hailey visited the dentist for her first time. I really wasn't sure how the visit would turn out, but Hailey did an amazing job! She was very calm and did whatever was asked of her. I really can't believe she did so well! We were very fortunate to have our friend, Melissa, clean her teeth. Melissa walked Hailey through each step and in the end gave her white teeth like a princess!!

Fix-It

The past month at the Packer home has been full of fix-its. First, our computer crashed with all of our pictures that had not yet been printed. We are still working with a company who is trying to retrieve those priceless memories. Next, our refrigerator decided to die. I had wanted a new fridge, but it wasn't a necessity. Our most recent fix-it was a hot water leak under our foundation!! What fun!! Did I mention this all happened in one month????
