Busy Bees

This week we have been very busy with various activities. I thought we would share a few of our favorites.

On Tuesday Colin, Hailey, and I were able to go to Hunington Beach. The weather was perfect!! Surprisingly it was not very busy, which was really nice. The water was pretty warm which allowed for us to actually get in. Hailey loved it!! She loved when wave would go back out and pull her. She would laugh every time. Daddy then came and lifted her over the waves. She had a blast. It was a short visit, but well worth it!!

What a cutie!

Fun with Daddy!

Wednesday was Haileys last day of swim lessons. This was the first year I signed her up. They were private lessons for 30 min. 3 times a week. Miss Kelly was wonderful. She was very patient and taught Hailey a ton. I am sad they are over, but we are super proud of Hailey and how much she has grown.

Finally, every Thursday we visit Barnes & Noble for a read aloud. This Thursday was special because players from the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes came to read and play baseball with the kids. Hailey had a blast and kept asking if we could stay for 2 more minutes!

Our Story

So instead of spending time stalking the blogs of others, I've decided to start our own family blog. I think blogs are a fun way of journaling for the family. So while this might not be the most exciting entry, I thought it was appropriate to give a brief summary of where we are at in our lives today.

Hailey- July 2009 (35 months)

Hailey will be turning 3 next month. I feel like she was just born yesterday. Hailey is a big girl and does not like to be called a baby. She is very independent and wants to try everything on her own. She is very smart and loves to work on homework, paint, and read books. She loves to snuggle and tell you how much she loves you. Hailey loves playing with other kids, especially her cousins. She loves dress-up and pretending. Hailey is a complete joy! I can't imagine my life without her. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing daughter.

Colin and Jamie- July 2009 (Picture taken by Hailey)

Colin and I have been married for almost 5 years. We recently purchased a home. We received the keys to our house Dec. 23, 2008, and moved in during the month of January. We have done tons of work to our home and are enjoying the memories we have already made here.

Colin works for Riverside County Sheriff Department. He is patrolling the streets in different areas of Riverside County. He is not in love with his job.... We are currently waiting for him to receive his orders with the Marines. He is planning to activate for a year working in San Diego on the flight line.

I have been teaching for the past 7 years. The past two years I have been working in a job share, which means I work part-time. I have loved being a mom and a teacher. I am taking this next school year off to stay at home. I am a little nervous about being a stay-at-home mom. I have been trying to work on building a routine this summer. I am looking forward to spending my time with Colin, Hailey, and my sisters.

We are extremely blessed in so many ways. I am so excited to be able to share our memories with friends and loved ones, as well as document them for the future.
